Why this book exists
A focused place to understand what is happening
This book is for someone carrying a grief that almost no one around them recognises as grief at all. If you are struggling to conceive, or living through the long ordeal of infertility, then you are grieving, really grieving, a child you have not been able to have and a future you had always assumed was yours, and I want you to know from the very first page that your grief is real and that you are allowed to feel it. I am a coach, not a doctor, and I will not give you medical advice about fertility or treatment, which belongs with your clinicians, and I will be clear throughout about where the ordinary grief of infertility ends and where something heavier begins that needs professional care, and I will point you toward that care plainly. What I can.
The writing is designed to reduce shame, bring the underlying pattern into view and give you practical ways to respond without pretending that every life follows the same formula.
